The Kaizen Company is seeking to hire two Editor Consultant positions for the USAID-funded New Partnerships Initiative (NPI) Incubator (Partnerships Incubator).

Position Summary

The Consultant will work closely with the Incubator Communications Director and other team members to ensure high-quality communication materials are developed before publication. The Consultant will mainly be responsible for proofreading, reviewing, and editing written content. The Consultant will ensure that final work products are error-free, consistent, and accurate. The position is for a maximum of 100 hours per person.

Main roles and responsibilities include:

Proofread materials for spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, usage, and consistency.
Review and mark up written work, such as marketing materials and internal documents.
Ensure the accuracy of the content and verify the accuracy of all referenced facts (e.g., dates, pages, values); double-check cross-referenced materials.
Review content and deliverables with an eye for USAID and NPI branding consistency.
Suggest process improvements through daily exposure to editing and proofing procedures.
Meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects at any given time.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, humanities, social sciences, international development, or a related field.
Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
5-7 years of experience in writing and editing.
Proficient in Google Suites.
Detail-oriented, quick reader, and multi-tasker.
Familiarity with Chicago Style a plus.
