IBTCI is currently seeking a qualified Copy Editor for work on daily and weekly reports provided to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the Performance Management and Support Project (PMSP). PMSP is a multi-year project that provides ongoing monitoring, verification, evaluation and performance management support to USAID/Iraq.

The consultant’s period of performance will be immediate – November 30, 2020. The consultant will have up to approximately 22 days of LOE. Using your copy-editing and subject matter skills, perform tasks on specific task orders and/or contracts. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

Scope of Work:

Copy edit daily coronavirus situation reports (Monday-Wednesday) and a weekly situation report (Sunday) of approximately 6-10 pages each (estimated LOE is 3 hours per report, from approximately 2-5 pm on the days when a report is due);
Edit all text for clarity, consistency, accuracy, format, correct spelling, punctuation and grammar; \
When necessary, rewrite sections of text and question report writer when unsure of content, context and intent; and
Other duties as assigned.
This position does not authorize/require the consultant to directly communicate with IBTCI clients.
This position does not authorize/require the consultant to have decision making authority on final work product.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Familiarity with USAID branding and marking guidelines.
Ability and willingness to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous experience editing documents for USG customers is a plus.
Minimum Requirements:

At least three years of experience in a copy-editor role.
Strong writing, editing, and copy-editing skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Strict attention to detail.
Oral and written fluency in English required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, marketing or a related field.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: Travel is not required.
